Attention dog people! Are you professional K9 handler or trainer for law enforcement? Are you a civilian involved in any sports with your dog such as agility, nosework, rally, flyball, Schutzhund, Mondio, PSA, or other protection sports? Do you want to be more efficient and effective with your training? Canine Cognition Assessment can get you going in the right direction and offer clarity with how your dog thinks! What is Canine Cognition Assessment (CCA)? CCA is process of which we conduct a series of “brain games” that allow us to determine how your dog processes information. Each dog, even ones from the same litter, has their own way of gathering and processing information. This class is based on the research done with Cameron Ford (Fordk9.com) and Duke University and is designed to see how your dog’s brain works. This seminar is open to ALL dogs that are at least 6 months old, regardless sport or profession. The information gathered can help you adjust your training plans to how your dog learns. Is your dog strong in memory? Are they a problem solver? How quickly do they make inferences? These questions can be answered by playing these games. The best part is- there are no wrong answers! We gather data and processing the results to give us an idea on how to adjust to the dogs learning style. Your lead instructor, Pete Stevens, is the President and Lead Trainer at The Scentsable K9. Pete retired from the Chula Vista Police Department after 24.5 years.
