The Scentsable K9 is proud to announce two days of challenging and fun searches during our 4 Element Live Coaching Event at Strategic Operations (STOPS). ***Each day will be new searches*** Just what is STOPS? It is the premier training facility for some of the most elite units in Law Enforcement and Military. There are so many different areas to train such as the Middle East Village, Chopper crash, and the 4-story building with awesome search areas on each level just to name a few. What is Live Coaching? Live Coaching means you decide how you want to run the searches to meet your current training needs. You can run searches with known amount and/or location of hides. Maybe you want to focus leash handling or reading your dog. You can even run the searches "blind" with the life line option where we only intervene if needed. Do you have more than one dog in detection sports with different areas needing work? Bring them both! You can run a different dog for each element but you only get one shot to search in each element. Searches will be set to be challenging for all levels but no titles are required. Simply advise us of what level you want to train at and we will adjust the search scenario to match that level. Pete is also NACSW trial Judge. In 2018, Pete created The Scentsable K9 which has conducted over 100 workshops and seminars focused on detection. Pete graduated from the first Canine Cognition Instructors Course at Ford K9. Kevin Olin- Kevin retired from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department after 30 in law enforcement. He is a former SWAT Team member and was a K9 handler for the last 9 years of his career. Kevin’s last assignment was focused is on interdiction of large quantities of controlled substances along the southwest border. As a K9 team, they’ve recovered literally thousands of pounds of illegal narcotics, primarily in deeply concealed hidden compartments of vehicles. Several task force agencies, both federal and state, have utilized Kevin and his K9 partner to assist in locating hidden narcotics during traffic stops and the execution of search warrants. Kevin is transferring his knowledge of narcotics work to the sport of scent detection. Kevin has a passion for detection work off the clock as well. He and “Roxy”, the family Rottweiler, attended the Logan Haus Detection Fundamentals Seminar and are currently training with The Scentsable K9 in K9 scent sports. Kevin has recently become an NACSW Nosework Trial Judge. Chris Oliver serves as a Correctional Officer with the Placer County Sheriff's Office with 23 years on the job. He is a member of the Placer County K-9 Unit and is working his fourth narcotics detection dog within the jails. Some of Chris' other accomplishments are: • Certifying Official / Board member for the California Narcotics Canine Association (CNCA) and California Peace Officer's Standards and Training (POST). • Detection K9 Trainer with DTac-K9 owned by Gregg Tawney, where he works with detection K9 teams from approximately 24 different departments. • Nosework Judge for competitions throughout California and Nevada. • Seminar Instructor for nosework and detection dogs throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, and via zoom in Australia. Chris also owns and operates K9 Furst Detection K9 Training where he trains sport and professional detection K9s. Chris lives in northern California where he and his wife of 19 years, Tara, are raising their son and daughter. His interests are family, dogs, travel, fishing, softball, and craft beer.

Kevin retired from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department after 30 in law enforcement. He is a former SWAT Team member and was a K9 handler for the last 9 years of his career.

Kevin’s last assignment was focused is on interdiction of large quantities of controlled substances along the southwest border. As a K9 team, they’ve recovered literally thousands of pounds of illegal narcotics, primarily in deeply concealed hidden compartments of vehicles. Several task force agencies, both federal and state, have utilized Kevin and his K9 partner to assist in locating hidden narcotics during traffic stops and the execution of search warrants. Kevin is transferring his knowledge of narcotics work to the sport of scent detection. Kevin has a passion for detection work off the clock as well. There are so many different areas to train such as the Middle East Village, Chopper crash, and the 4-story building with awesome search areas on each level just to name a few. What is Live Coaching? Live Coaching means you decide how you want to run the searches to meet your current training needs. You can run searches with known amount and/or location of hides. Maybe you want to focus leash handling or reading your dog. You can even run the searches "blind" with the life line option where we only intervene if needed. Do you have more than one dog in detection sports with different areas needing work? Bring them both! You can run a different dog for each element but you only get one shot to search in each element. Searches will be set to be challenging for all levels but no titles are required. Simply advise us of what level you want to train at and we will adjust the search scenario to match that level. If you are competing at a higher level, you are more than welcome to work on polishing your fine skills like leash handling, change of behavior recognition, and search strategies. ***Dogs must know the odors of Anise, Birch, and Clove*** The “Band” Members- Your lead instructor, Pete Stevens, is the President and Lead Trainer at The Scentsable K9. Pete retired from the Chula Vista Police Department after 24.5 years. During his career, Pete worked 4 Police Service Dogs- 3 single purpose (1 patrol and 2 narcotics) and 1 dual purpose (patrol/narcotics). Pete was assigned to patrol, Gang Suppression, Narcotics Enforcement Team, and was as a Task Force Officer assigned to Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Pete is a Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, Use of Force Instructor and has an Advanced Certificate from the California Peace Officer Standards and Training (CA POST). Pete is a CA POST K9 team evaluator for patrol and narcotics. He is a Certifying Official for the California Narcotic Canine Association (CNCA) and is on the CNCA Board of Directors. Pete is also NACSW trial Judge. In 2018, Pete created The Scentsable K9 which has conducted over 100 workshops and seminars focused on detection. Pete graduated from the first Canine Cognition Instructors Course at Ford K9. Kevin Olin- Kevin retired from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department after 30 in law enforcement. He is a former SWAT Team member and was a K9 handler for the last 9 years of his career. Kevin’s last assignment was focused is on interdiction of large quantities of controlled substances along the southwest border. As a K9 team, they’ve recovered literally thousands of pounds of illegal narcotics, primarily in deeply concealed hidden compartments of vehicles. Several task force agencies, both federal and state, have utilized Kevin and his K9 partner to assist in locating hidden narcotics during traffic stops and the execution of search warrants. Kevin is transferring his knowledge of narcotics work to the sport of scent detection. Kevin has a passion for detection work off the clock as well. He and “Roxy”, the family Rottweiler, attended the Logan Haus Detection Fundamentals Seminar and are currently training with The Scentsable K9 in K9 scent sports. Kevin has recently become an NACSW Nosework Trial Judge. Chris Oliver serves as a Correctional Officer with the Placer County Sheriff's Office with 23 years on the job. He is a member of the Placer County K-9 Unit and is working his fourth narcotics detection dog within the jails. Some of Chris' other accomplishments are: • Certifying Official / Board member for the California Narcotics Canine Association (CNCA) and California Peace Officer's Standards and Training (POST). • Detection K9 Trainer with DTac-K9 owned by Gregg Tawney, where he works with detection K9 teams from approximately 24 different departments. • Nosework Judge for competitions throughout California and Nevada. • Seminar Instructor for nosework and detection dogs throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, and via zoom in Australia. Chris also owns and operates K9 Furst Detection K9 Training where he trains sport and professional detection K9s. Chris lives in northern California where he and his wife of 19 years, Tara, are raising their son and daughter. His interests are family, dogs, travel, fishing, softball, and craft beer.

Schools (both public and private), large buildings with offices, or a large warehouse are great venues for hosting a seminar.
